Youth Instructional League

Summer/Fall 2025

Location:

• Practices: New Lexington Elementary or Junction City Elementary (days and times TBA), teams will practice 2 times per week
• Intrasquad Scrimmages: New Lexington Middle School or High School (dates & times TBA), tentative dates August 10, 17, and 24 at 4:00 pm (Sundays). These will be “mock” game days to help prepare for their league games. 

Games:

• We will be participating in the Nelsonville Youth League.
• Game Dates are: September 6, 13, 20, 27, October 6, and 13. The end of the season tournament is October 13 with a single elimination tournament. 
• The schedule has not been released yet for exact times, but I will email information as soon as provided to me. 
• Location: Nelsonville City Schools (2 Buckeye Dr, Nelsonville, OH 45764) *Potentially other schools near Nelsonville depending on number of teams they get.
• All League Game Days are on Saturdays at Nelsonville, so. If players are looking to play fall softball or cheer on Sundays, the schedules will match up for game days. 
• We will host an additional tournament at our place on Saturday, October 18th

Parent Meeting:

• Parent Meeting – August 3rd at 4:00 pm at New Lexington Elementary School (grade 3-6). This will be about a 30 minute meeting to go over league information and expectations, hand out jerseys/tshirts, and complete paperwork.

Band App information:

Please download the free app called “Band App” and scan the following QR code to join the youth volleyball group message. We will use this to communicate all further information. Your grade level coach may decide to create an additional band app to communicate information directly regarding their team, details to be determined.

More information:

• The focus of this league is to provide an opportunity for youth to develop volleyball fundamentals, learn volleyball concepts and rotations, develop team values, become involved in the New Lexington Volleyball program, and create a positive experience for our youth.
• We plan to have 3 divisions: 3rd/4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. If enough girls sign up within each age group, we plan to have 2 teams per age group.
• Intrasquad Scrimmages will be played on three Sundays in August 10, 17, and 24 from 4:00-6:00 pm at New Lexington Middle School or High School. These will be “mock” game days to help prepare for their league games. 
• The Nelsonville League will be an opportunity for youth athletes to play on grade level teams and compete against other area teams. 
• Youth Participants will learn passing, setting, hitting, serving, serve receiving, offensive and defensive concepts, rotations, and teamwork.
• Youth Participants will also be invited to program wide activities to help build a bond between grades 3-12. We will have volleypalooza, pool party, youth night at the high school, and more! 
• Take advantage of the exciting opportunity to strengthen our program by keeping our youth competing and playing together locally and competitively.
• Cost of participation...money goes to pay for league entrance fees, uniforms, t-shirts, and practice equipment. 
• FULL CALENDARS WILL BE POSTED ON OUR YOUTH FACEBOOK PAGE, IN OUR BAND APP GROUP MESSAGE, EMAILED TO INDIVIDUAL REGISTERING CHILD AND HANDED OUT AT THE PARENT MEETING AS SOON AS WE HAVE PRACTICES AND GAMES FINALIZED!!
